This article presented the family nursing experience of a hypertensive elderly. Using Friedman's family assessment model, the authors collected the family's data by observation and interviewing. The Gorden's nursing diagnosis was used to identify health problems of the subject. After establishing a mutual understanding and therapeutic relationship with the family, the nursing interventions were provided, including provision of hypertensive education, encouragement of family supports, continuous caring and positive feedback, reinforcement of family's health beliefs, and establishment of regular medication to improve the medication adherence. |
