With the growing importance of information systems in enterprises operation, the success of information systems development is an issue of concern to enterprises. Although the development tools for information systems advance, the failure rate of information systems is still high. The development process of information system involves the transfer of business knowledge from user group to system development teams. Therefore, this study is motivated to empirically clarify the impact of the cross-team knowledge transfer performance on information system development performance based on system development team members. The gathered empirical data were analyzed with PLS. The results showed that the cross-team knowledge transfer performance was significant associated with information system development performance. Besides, the existed domain knowledge of development team members and the partnership quality between user group and system development team were also shown significant positive association with knowledge transfer performance. The results validated the theoretical and practical importance of viewing information system development a process of knowledge transfer in facilitating the success of information system development. |
