成人教育與哲學

Adult Education and Philiosophy

成人教育係教育的一環，也與哲學的關係相當密切。在成人教育的領域中，有很多的層面需要哲學的指引、批判或作價值性的判斷。故成人教育者需要哲學作為工作的指引。本文探討哲學與成人教育的關係，除前言與結語外，計分為五大部分，分別探討哲學的意義、教育與哲學、哲學為成人教育者所必須、成人教育哲學概觀及成人教育的目的等五部分。在成人教育哲學概觀中，分別對當前的六種成人教育哲學——博雅主義、進步主義、行為主義、人本主義 、激進主義及分析主義等成人教育哲學的來源、發展、主要人物及其對成人教育的影響分別作一簡介。在成人教育目的中，則提出成人教育的主要目的，在於協助個人適應社會的變遷、促進民主社會的實現、增進效率、促進個人的成長等四方面。

Adult education is a field of education. The relationship between adult education and philosophy is very close. In the field of adult education, there are many things which need philosophy to guide, evalucate and make decision. This article discussed five main questions, including the meaning of philosophy, philosophy and education, philosophy and adult education, overview of the philosophies of adult education, and purposes of adult education. The author has discussed the origination, development, important persons and the main contribution to adult education of the six main philosophies of adult education. And the author also mentioned the puposes of adult education are to faciliate change in a dynamic society, to support and maintain the good soial order, to promote productivity, and to enhance personal growth.
