Purpose: This study was to construct a written table tennis cognitive test for college students. The test provides college PE instructor a tool to assess students' knowledge about table tennis. Method: The participants were 123 students drawn from beginning and intermediate table tennis classes. The participants took the same test twice with interval of 2 weeks. Results: Through item analysis, 50 items that fit acceptable item difficulty index and item discrimination index were chosen to be included in the final draft of the test. The reliability of the test was 0.92, Content validity were established according to the goals and contents of teaching and approved by table tennis instructor and PE experts. Conclusions: A table tennis cognitive test was successfully developed for college students that met all requirements of the test statistics. |
