Purposes: This study was to understand the community older adults about their physical activities and the quality of life, furthermore to explore the relationships and degrees among these factors. Mathods: The Participants were from seven villages which were selected by the centre of health promotion to demonstrate healthy community in Da-liao Village. 187 elder people whose ages were above 65 years old and the average mean 73.5 years old. All participants were asked to fill out the demography data, and the structured questionnaires including Perceived Health Status Scale, Physical Activity Scale, and Life Quality Scale. In addition the approach of interview was also applied to collect research data. Data were analyzed by description statistics, one-way ANOVA and Pearson's corelation test and Scheffe's test. Results: 1.The average score of the physical activity for older adults was below average which male was higher than female by the questionnaire test. Moreover, the most popular activity was outdoor walking activities. 2. The average score of the quality of life was above average The social domain was the highest score and physiological health domain was lowest score. 3. There was hihgly correlation between the physical activity and the quality of life for the older adults, particularly in the physiological health domain Conclusion: The highly correlation between physical activity and quality of life for the older adults, this study provide useful information for design to appropriate physical activity program which can provide a life quality community for older adults. |
