The purposes of this study were to explore the relationship between recreational sports participation and perceived happiness about the technical college students of different school systems. Subjects were the students of day-school and night-school that included two-year system, four-year system and college system of St. John's & St. Mary's Institute of Technology (SJSMIT). The research was conducted via questionnaire, and 980 subjects were selected by stratified random sampling; 732 effective questionnaires were collected (74.7%). Data were analyzed by the chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, Pearsons correlation, and regression analysis. The results were as follows:1.Significant differences were found on the participated quantity and level of recreational sports between the subjects of different school systems of SJSMIT. 2.'Personal responsibility' was the major constraint factors between the subjects of different school systems of students of SJSMIT; also, they showed significant difference on 'recreational resource' and 'personal responsibility'. 3.All the subjects showed positive attitude of the perception of happiness as well as showed significant difference attitude on 'interpersonal adaptation' and 'self-acceptance'.4.In recreational sports participation, factors those were 'competence', 'control' and 'degree of fondness' that showed positive correlation with of the perception of happiness. The other side, the 'body-mind' and 'recreational resource' showed negative correlation with the perception of happiness.5.We could predict the perception of happiness through the factors of competence, control and the obstacle of body-mind. The combined prediction power researched 20.7%. The main conclusion were that all subjects did not get enough quantity of recreational sports participation. Secondly, the student subjects of two-year system perceived the greatest obstacle. Thirdly, It showed positive correlation between participation in recreational sports and perceived happiness about all subjects . |
