This study aimed at exploring the state of art in applying information technology in junior high school instructionsat the county of Yunlin, and examinedteacher use of information technology by evaluatingdifferent background variables. The researchers expect the finding could facilitate future application of information technology into school settings. The research developed a self-reportedquestionnaire and surveyed 384 full-time teachersfromYunlin junior high schools. Multiple statistical procedures were used for data analyses. The main findings were as follows: (a) Withregard tothe implementation attitude, the coast area teachers were significantly morepositive than that of the mountain area teachers; (b) withregard to the number of hours per week on the use of information technology into teaching, public school teachers were more likely to use technology into teaching comparing with private school teachers, and suchresult was not previously found in the literature; and (c) the higher theprofessional development hours that teacherscould have, the lower the technology integration that teachers may incorporate into their classroom instructions. This research proposed several comments and recommendationsto future studies and policy implementation in the concluding remarks. |
