After Taiwan acceding to WTO and facing the market has enlarged and opened from the whole world. The operation competition of the commercial port is increasing and enhancing. Competition has become the important issues to the operation of commercial port. However, the past academic researches of port were focused on the analysis of “the market”. It was neglected to the section of competition of the origin and foundation. Therefore, this study used resource-based theory as the key point. Selecting 30 the first largest ports of the whole world to rank and analysis the strategic groups to be the region of resource face. The result of study presented that there are four strategic groups have been classified from the 30 the first largest ports respectively into “container field scale advantage group”, “ability of equipment and technology advanced group”, “defence guarding group” and “resource inferior position group”, etc. Those four strategic groups have their own core of resource. It is useful and worth for the operation of kaohsiung Port to refer to the differentiation of those four strategic groups. |
