May Forth Perspectives Were Shaped and Applied by the Journal Free China

一九五○年代《自由中國》半月刊在臺灣的廣泛影響，是中國五四思潮成功扎根台灣的關鍵因素。其中，胡進典殷海光則是在《自由中國》宣揚五四思潮最重要的代表人物，殷海光更是實際的核心，而五四的民和、科學精神，也成為《自由中國》反共，尤其是反國民黨威權的思想利器，本文即從五四意識在臺灣的形成與運用之背景，思考此一問題。

The journal Free China had powerful impact in Taiwan during 1950s. It's the major factor that helped the successful rooting of the thought of May Forth in Taiwan. By way of this influential journal, Hi Shih and Yin Hai-guang, as two important authors, had made May Forth legacy popular. Especially, Yin had played a more crucial role in that period. The democratic and scientific spirit of May Forth became sharp weapon of Free China against both communist and KMT authoritarian regime. This article thus tries to make clear how the May Forth perspectives were shaped and applied by the journal Free China.
