Based upon eidetic analysis of body memory and later Husserls thoughts on passive synthesis, this paper is a attempt to uncover the problematic of corporeality and temporality. According to Foucaults critique of phenomenology and Merleau-Pontys different readings of Bergson, there are three versions of formulation of corporeality and temporality. In early Merleau-Pontys critique of Bergsons metaphysics of duration, he insists the eidetic thinking of body-subject and corporeal intentionality. By way of emphasizing on communion and synesthesia, the second version of Merleau-Pontean reading of Bergson manifested a temporally unitary synchronization of different senses. Later Merleau-Pontys ontology of Flesh developed with Bergsons thoughts of corporeality as écart of time, which opened a postmodern style of thinking on corporeality and temporality as a bridge among later Husserl, Foucault and Deleuze. |
