While compulsory education is widespread in Taiwan, social education institutions are the main learning fields for continuing education and lifelong learning. The Lifelong Learning Act in Taiwan came into force on June 26, 2002. The Act was established to encourage lifelong learning through implementation and promotion of lifelong education by the competent authorities stated in the Act. Nowadays, there are many public and private social education institutions, and this paper aims to analyze the current situation of social education institutions’ operations un-der the modern social environment. The research aimed to analyze the current situation of social education institutions and its implementation in Taiwan. TRIZ (Theory for the Solution of Inventive Problems) method was used to conduct the research. TRIZ expert team members were invited to analyze persistent and novel challenges according to their professional knowledge and practical experience, and to identify the root causes of the problems and conflicts. Positive and negative impacts were extracted from the contradictions, and the contradiction matrix in business was applied to generate intervention measures and innovative problem- solving strategies. This research identified the difficulties encountered by social education institutions in their implementation processes and current status. Based on the results of this systematic and scientific analysis of the social contexts, conflicts, and difficulties encountered by the social education institutions, innovative solutions are proposed for future development. |
