Zitelmann seeks to shed light on whether there is any reason compelling legal provisions to be or tend to be the same for all countries, i.e., whether it is possible to apply the same legal provisions to all countries. In addition, Zitelmann regards comparative law as an appropriate approach to discovering the correct law. As for the significance of comparative law for academic research, on the one hand, loopholes in the law under study can be filled by gaining an understanding of the content of other legal provisions; on the other hand, only through diachronic comparison can we unfold the formation process of law. Zitelmann believes that based on a unified legal perspective, the world law is possible. |
