In the context of a gradually aging society and the increasing interest in education for the elderly, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of an intergenerational learning program which was conducted at Hsuan Chuang university. The participants in this study were 20 university students and 20 adults over 60 years of age. An interview method was adopted, and the data was analyzed using standard statistical methods. The study undertook to better understand; (1) the benefits to both the elderly and the student participants in this intergenerational learning program; (2) the social and educational changes, including cognitive, affective and behavioral changes, brought about by this program; and (3) the different functions or roles of the elderly and student participants in the program. Finally, the study proposed 6 conclusions and offered 4 suggestions. |
