By using school's knowledge creation as an intermediary variable, this study aimed to investigate the effects of principal's distributed leadership on student's learning achievement. Questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaires were given to a random sample of 1011 educators (including homeroom teachers, subject teachers, group leaders, directors and principals) in Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City and Miaoli County. A total of 698 questionnaires were valid. The study used structural equation modeling to verify the linear relationship among distributed leadership, school knowledge creation and student learning achievement. The results indicated that principal's distributed leadership has positive effects on school knowledge creation and student learning achievement. Besides, principal's distributed leadership will indirectly influence student learning achievement by way of school knowledge creation. The study suggested that principals implement distributed leadership to facilitate school knowledge creation, and thus enhance student learning performance. |
