Though facing many difficulties, life education has been developed and promoted for 12 years with a lot of achievements. Most importantly, it has been , as a group of eight optional courses, introduced into the curriculum system of senior high schools in Taiwan, and starting form the year of 2010, every senior high school student will be required to select a one-credit course from the group. Secondly, colleges and universities have begun to pay attention to the concept of life education. It is believed that the awareness of basic questions in our life should be the core value of general education.The aim of this article is to investigate and reflect upon the challenges with which life education is confronted. On the basis of this reflection, the future of life education is envisioned. There are three parts of the article. In the first part, I explain what I mean by life education. In the second part, different challenges that life education faces are discussed. The article is concluded with my vision of the development of life education in the future. |
