The effect of surface status of cold rolled steel on phosphating would be investigated by electrochemical analysis. There are two main factors of steel on phosphating, including phosphating treatment processes and steel manufacturing. First, surface conditioner process might affect the reaction of phosphating. Second, the alloying design would be the main factor to influence the initiation of phosphating. To realize the behaviors of surface conditioner and alloying design on phosphating of substrate, open circuit potential measurement and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic analysis were used individually. More uniform phosphating nucleate can be found on the steel after surface conditioner process and resulted in a more fluctuated potential by open circuit potential measurement. After electrochemical impedance spectroscopic analysis, lower resistance on steel surface produced under higher reductive environment while annealing would be detected with more compact phosphating morphology. |
