Bio-electro-Fenton Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) provides both electricity and sewage treatment for new energy technology, the system architecture is the oxidation and reduction reactions. Microorganisms were decomposed organic substances to produce electricity at anode, while the Fenton sewage wastewater treatment was performed at cathode. The system combines features of energy and the environment improvements, which draws more attention of all countries in the world. In this study, the traditional carbon felt electrodes was replaced by 316SS stainless steel after atmospheric plasma surface treatment and their battery performance and corrosion resistance were discussed. The results show that the electrical performance of the system by polarization curve test, a current density of 316SS after electrode treatment improved 2.2 times, while its power density was raised 2.7 times. The corrosion potential of 316SS electrode without the plasma processing is -194mV vs Cl / Hg2Cl2, and the one with the plasma processing is 135mV vs Cl / Hg2Cl2. |
