Outdoor cabinets will suffer from the atmospheric impact on high temperature as well as corrosion. Thermal management of outdoor telecommunications cabinets, thus, becomes of primary importance for the telecommunications operation. On the other hand, replacing the stainless steel with aluminum alloy for the cabinet body material can remarkably reduce the cabinet equipment cost. However, the improvement of corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy cabinets to meet the demands of protecting equipment in the outdoor environment becomes another important issue. This paper will describe the improvement of solar heat insulation and corrosion prevention for the telecommunications cabinets by coatings application. It was found that the color of coating has a significant influence on the heat insulation of solar radiation. To improve the heat insulation and dramatically decrease 10 ℃ inside cabinets is conducted through selecting the color of coatings. In addition, the electrochemical impedance analysis showed that the degradation period of coatings is prolonged over 100 days by an increase in coating thickness from 50 μm to 100 μm. |
