Ni-W/diamond composite coatings with various contents of diamond particles were prepared by electrodeposition in Ni-W plating bath. The influences of various nickel concentration in the plating bath on diamond particles co-deposited in the composite coatings was evaluated. The phase constitution and crystal structure was analyzed by using XRD. The grain size and morphology of Ni-W/diamond composite coating were smaller and smoother than those of Ni-W alloy coating. The corrosion behaviors of Ni-W alloy and Ni-W/diamond composite coatings were evaluated by the anodic polarization curves in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution at room temperature. It showed that the corrosion resistance ability of the coating was improved by co-depositing diamond particles in Ni- W alloy coating. In addition, co-deposition of diamond particles in the coatings increased the micro-hardness and reduced the weight loss after wear test, implying the improvement of the wear resistance of the coating. |
