This paper presents a study on the anti-corrosion ability of various water-binder ratio High Performance Concrete Containing Nano-silica Powder (NSHPC) under strong acid and alkali attack. The parameters are water-binder ratio (W/B = 0.24, 0.31 and 0.38) and varying content of nano-silica powder (0 % and 2 %). After 28 days of curing, the mixes will be separated into saturated limewater, strong acid and alkali solutions; and all experiments will proceed at 56, 91 and 120 days. The results show the less of the water-binder ratio and mixing water amount of High Performance Concrete (HPC) will make better mechanical properties in saturated limewater solution. Adding nano-silica powder in HPC will raise the mechanical properties and durability of HPC more effectively. Under strong alkali environment, the resistivity of all batches is still high. It is obvious that the effect of strong alkali solution to concrete is slight. The anti-corrosion ability of HPC (W/B = 0.24、adding nano-silica powder) under strong acid attack is the best. |
