Metallic coatings have been used for centuries for corrosion protection. Galvanized steel wire strand has been widely used to support aerial cable and telecommunication anti-corrosion materials. In coastal area the existing zinc-coated steel wire strand corroded and even fractured in short time. Two polymer coatings formed on the galvanized steel plate were prepared to evaluate the anti-corrosion behavior in corrosive environments. The testing techniques include salt spray test, weather-ometer test, salt water resistance test ,thermal deterioration test and ac impedance measurement. Results from the Nyquist plot have shown the critical pore resistance of polymer-coated galvanized steel . |
