The prevention of the high temperature corrosion and materials selection are the main technologies to build up a waste incinerator. By ways of combustion, pyrolysis and gasification to treat refuse during incineration, the wastage can decompose to a safe condition for living environments. However, many corrosive flue gases such as HCl, Cl2, SO2, SO3, CO, CO2, NOx and ashes produced by the combination of the refuse could result in severe corrosion problems of the incinerator. The purpose of this study is to review the reaction mechanism and the burning atmospheres during incinerating different kinds of wastage, and to provide a better reference for the design, material selection and maintenance of the incinerators. |
