In 2025, the NCL Special Collections, through the“2025 Taipei Rare Books and Manuscripts Auction,”acquired a total of 11 items: 1 rare book (4 volumes), 1 rubbing, and 9 postcards from the period of Taiwan under Japanese colonial rule. Specifically, the rare book is Yuanzhou liu chahua siji yong (Poems of the Four Seasons of Ikebana, 1818), which features remarkable contents and illustrations on Japanese ikebana; the one rubbing is titled Wang Zhihan muzhibei (1886), an epitaph written by renowned Qing dynasty calligrapher Cao Hongxun (1848–1910) for his mentor Wang Zhihan (1819–1884); and the postcards depict Taitung Prefecture during the colonial period, items which further bolster our collections. |
