This paper reviews the academic life and achievements of Professor Chin- Chuan Lee. Professor Lee attended University of Hawaii from Taiwan for his master’s degree and then the University of Michigan for doctoral studies. After graduation, he landed a teaching job at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1978. He then moved to the University of Minnesota in the United States in 1982 and stayed there for about two decades. In 2002, he joined the City University of Hong Kong. After retiring in 2018, he returned to Taipei, where he became a Yushan Scholar at National Chengchi University. Professor Lee is a towering figure in Chinese communication studies, breaking new ground in various places by producing a rich body of scholarly work and mentoring many students in different places. He excels in the role of a bridge-builder and emphasizes the importance of historical context and a global vision. |
