This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of multimedia health education on patient anxiety and care satisfaction during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) examination. This study adopted random sampling research design and collected samples from the Taipei hospital wards who underwent ERCP examination in northern Taiwan. They were divided 68 patients in the experimental group and 68 patients in the control group. The experimental group watched the ERCP video and the control group received traditional leaflets. Research instruments included State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, satisfaction questionnaire (Likert scale). The research results showed that the basic data of the two groups before the health education were homogeneous. After health education intervention, the experimental group showed significantly lower state anxiety compared to the control group of which read traditional paper-based health education (p<0.001). Moreover, the care satisfaction of patients in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group (p< 0.001). The application of multimedia health education video for ERCP examination can reduce anxiety and enhance care satisfaction in clinical practice, emphasizes the importance of healthcare professionals still paying attention to patient anxiety and implementing tailored strategies to continuously improve the quality of care. |
