In the continuous progress of digital transformation, a comprehensive and systematic framework would be helpful to enterprises in coping with the competitive environment and challenges that arise during the transformation process. This research proposes an integrated technology-organization-environment framework and a digital maturity research model to explore the status of digital transformation and related influencing factors, as well as the moderating effect of digital maturity on the relationship between digital transformation and organizational performance. 245 valid samples were collected for model and hypothesis validation using the partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The researchfindings show that technological readiness, organizational readiness, and external pressure have a significant positive effect on digital transformation, digital transformation has a significant positive effect on organizational performance, and digital maturity has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between digital transformation and performance. The results enrich the researchfield of digital transformation and digital maturity of enterprises in academia and provide reference and guidance for enterprises to evaluate decision-making. We discuss the implications for research and organizational practice. |
