The paper titled“Lab based prototype implementation of single-sided linear induction motor for Traction Applications”explores the advancement and design of linear induction motor (LIM) technology for efficient traction applications. In the context of sustainable transportation and industrial automation, LIMs present a promising solution due to their simplicity, high thrust-to-weight ratio, and absence of physical contact. This paper mainly focuses on identifying the key challenges and opportunities for improvement in single-sided LIMs. The primary objective of this project is to design a lab-based single-sided LIM to enhance its performance in terms of efficiency, minimize losses, maximize thrust output, and ensure cost-effectiveness. The methodology involves detailed electromagnetic modelling and simulation, enabling the evaluation of various design parameters, including core materials, winding configurations, and geometrical dimensions. |
