In the 28th year of Duke His, Tsou chuan records: “At the War of Ch’eng-p’u, Chin’s central forces lost their cattle, horses and the left flag. Because Ch’i Man violated the regulations, he was sentenced to death by the martial officer.” I consider this is not the whole picture of the incident based on the reason that Ch’i Man had nothing to do with this incident. Therefore, I discuss the relation of the flag, the drum, the loss of cattle and horses, and the family tree of Ch’i Man in this article to disclose that Ch’i Man was only a scapegoat in this incident. |
