This research was aimed to examine the position of clinical psychologists in the power structrue of contemporary Taiwan psychiatric hospitals. The method of depth interview was adopted to interview 6 clinical psychologists, 3 psychiatrsts, 1 social worker, and 1 occupational therapist. Meanwhile, a questionnaire was administered to 45 clinical psychologists and 62 psychiatrists to collect the related data. The results showed that, compared to the psychiatrsts, the clinical psychologists occupied an inferior position in the power structure of psychiatric hospital. Their decision power for arranging a given treatment plan was relatively weak, and their cnontribution to the medical team tended to be ignored by their supervisors. |
