This study aims to explore how gender equality education can be effectively integrated into local language teaching. To successfully incorporate gender equality education into various subject areas, it is essential first to understand its learning objectives, themes, and core content. Therefore, this study begins by examining the learning goals, themes, and substantive aspects of gender equality education. The integration of gender equality education into the curriculum can be categorized into two approaches: (1) integration into the formal curriculum and (2) integration into the informal and hidden curriculum. Since the local language subject is already part of the formal curriculum, this study primarily focuses on the first approach, providing an in-depth discussion on integrating gender equality education into the formal curriculum of local language education while also considering its incorporation into the informal and hidden curriculum. The integration of gender equality education into the formal local language curriculum can be further divided into three models: 1.Incorporating gender equality education topics into local language curriculum teaching. 2.Implementing thematic teaching on gender equality education through local languages. 3.Establishing gender equality education as a distinctive school curriculum using local languages. |
