章太炎白話文學初探

Original Exploration of Vernacular Literature

清末民初的白話文學運動，無疑是中國文學史上一次空前的劇變，出身古文經學的學術界巨擘章太炎先生，面對波瀾壯闊的時代洪流，最終還是向歷史繳械，但學界大多數人都以為章太炎自始至終反對白話文學，事實上他並非一味予以屏斥，而是有條件的反對，其反對的理由和胡適等人的見解其實也是極為相近，但為何會遭致如此誤解？不無深究之必要。此外，章太炎也有若干白話文學作品傳世，其中亦一定程度反映章氏之白話文學主張、思想內容及其特色，凡此皆是本文所欲探討之問題。

It's doubtless that the vernacular literature movement in the late Ching and early Republic has been an unprecedented huge change for the history of Chinese literature! When facing this overwhelming wave, the traditional academic master Mr. Chang-Tai-Yen who had been raised up by classical works finally surrendered to the epoch. Mr. Chang has been commonly recognized by the literati that he was totally against the vernacular, actually there were certain conditions with his opposition which were pretty close to other scholars such as Mr. Hu-Shyh. We suggest that there is necessity for further research. Why Mr. Chang had been misunderstood for almost a century? Also, Mr. Chang left us some vernacular literature works which certainly reflect his opinions and thoughts about vernacular literature. And all of these will be further discussed and explored in this article.
