Social intelligence is the essential factor to the success of life. The researchers think that we should focus on the development of students' social intelligence as well as the academic intelligence. The main purpose of this study is to understand the college students' social intelligence and to compare the students' social intelligence from various backgrounds. The researchers provides some suggestions for the higher education authorities and the future study based on the findings of this study. Questionnaire method is employed in this study. 904 college students from the central part of Taiwan participated in this study. The findings are as follows: 1.The college students from central part of Taiwan demonstrate the score of the social intelligence above the average mean score. 2.The findings indicate that the gender difference and various family raising pattern affect subjects social intelligence significantly. 3.The findings indicate that there are significant differences of the subjects' social intelligence among other school backgrounds including different school system, different field of study, whether or not have taken the related affection courses, participated the extra curriculum groups and take the responsibility as the leader. |
