A Study on the Textual System of Li Zhuo Wu’s Annotated Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu: Insights from Supplementary Printing, Reprinting, Subsequent Impressions, and Woodblock Typography |
| 英文摘要 |
This study focuses on the textual transmission and versional evolution of Li Zhuo Wu’s Annotated Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu (Ming, Wanli 14, 1586) after its introduction to Japan. From the first revision and supplementary printing by Hayashi Bunkaido Kyubei in Kyoto (Genroku 7, 1694) to its reprinting in An’ei 8 (1779), the work underwent multiple processes of supplementary printing, and subsequent impressions. By comparing the edition at the Japanese Institute, the research analyzes relationships between the Ming edition and Japanese woodblock editions through woodblock typography and handwriting analysis. This study analyzes manuscript calligraphy, scribal practices, and material features such as layout, format, and paper, revealing that“reprinting”did not necessarily replicate the original. It redefines the textual system and transmission lineage of extant Li Zhuo Wu’s Annotated Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu editions, offering new insights into their publication and circulation. |
