This study takes the“General Fan Sie-Hua's 100th Birthday Centennial Commemorative Exhibition”as an example to provide a detailed account of the archives acquisition and digitization process through the preparation work before curation. Typical historical and archival research usually focuses on investigating data related to individuals and events within archives, considering the process of archives acquisition and digitization as merely a part of the research methodology. However, the sharing and application of these research experiences and processes are crucial for enhancing research efficiency. Therefore, through the introduction of“database selection and utilization”,“multi-channels of archives acquisition”and“integrated application of archives and data”, this study establishes the steps and methods of“expanding from a single archive to exhibition space”and provides a preparatory model supporting diverse presentation in exhibitions. The analysis of archives acquisition and digitization in the text is based on a research process conducted before an actual exhibition event. Its research findings not only document the preparatory process for showcasing archival figures, but also, through discussions and organizing research methodologies, provide a reference for the application process of archives acquisition and digitization. This can further assist other researchers in conducting archival studies more efficiently. |
