The DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) ideal holds significant in¬fluence in enterprises and is widely adopted recently. This ideal allows enterprises to retain outstanding talent, thereby sustaining a continuous pool of human resources. In the education field, where there is consid¬erable interaction between individuals, applying this ideal, especially in preschools, which are crucial in shaping children’s correct values, can create a sustainable and friendly society. The purpose of this article is to explore the implementation of the DEI ideal in preschools. The article first introduces the basic concepts of DEI and its application in the field of education. Then, it discusses how preschools implement the DEI ideal in four aspects:“management and administration”,“class management”,“curriculum and instruction”, as well as“family and community environ¬ment and resources”. Following this, the article proposes four strategies for practicing DEI: starting from the leaders inside out, enhancing the well-being of educators, establishing equal support channels, as well as adopting personalized teaching tailored to individual needs. The article also analyzes the challenges that preschool may meet while implement¬ing DEI ideal. Finally, some references were made for creating a friendly environment in preschools and for further research. |
