Current trends in the publication of business Chinese textbooks mainly focus on“Chinese for General Business Purposes,”with significantly fewer studies dedicated to“Chinese for Specific Business Purposes.”Furthermore, interdisciplinary research combining Chinese for Specific Purposes and is Chinese for Specific Business Purposes limited, thereby slowly the develop of business Chinese. In April 2022, the Beijing Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press published a textbook in the domain of“Trade Chinese,”titled NEW ERA SPOKEN CHINESE FOR ECONOMY & TRADE. General business Chinese textbooks typically employ Face-to-Face dialogues as the primary instructional format, emphasizing aspects of Chinese business culture, cross-cultural communication, and various business behavior models. Conversely, Chinese for Specific Business Purposes textbooks, such as NEW ERA SPOKEN CHINESE FOR ECONOMY & TRADE, prioritize communication models pertinent to trade practices, focusing on remote interactions, devoid of face-to-face dialog model. This text often combines Chinese and English keywords and has little to do with Chinese Business Culture. Interconnect content by subject in each class to reflect the sequential nature of trade work. This study examines the NEW ERA SPOKEN CHINESE FOR ECONOMY & TRADE textbook, which is relatively uncommon in Taiwan’s Business Chinese Textbooks and has not been the subject of prior research. Consequently, this research aims to explain the distinctions between Chinese for General Business Purposes textbooks and this Chinese for Specific Business Purposes textbook, and analyze its characteristics, including thematic organization principles, vocabulary, and Professional vocabulary. |
