This study aims to explore the motivations and current status of continuous participation among scout service volunteers in Taipei City, compare the differences arising from various background variables, and analyze the correlation and predictive relationship between participation motivation and continuous participation. This research employs a survey method, targeting unpaid scout service volunteers in Taipei City who are over 20 years old and have completed three registrations in the 110th year of Taipei City’s scouting service. Stratified sampling was conducted using cluster and convenience sampling methods. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed, with 492 returned and 489 valid questionnaires collected. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, independent samples t-test, Pearson product-moment correlation, and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The results are as follows: (1) There are significant differences in certain participation motivations among different“ages,”“education levels,”“years of service,”“scouting participation during student days,”and“friends and relatives’participation in scouting services.”(2) There are significant differences in certain continuous participation variables among different“genders,”“ages,”“years of service,”“whether having children in the scout group,”“scouting participation during student days,”and“friends and relatives’participation in scouting services.”(3) There is a significant positive correlation between participation motivation and continuous participation among scout service volunteers in Taipei City. In conclusion, the overall participation motivation of scout service volunteers in Taipei City can predict their future continuous participation. Based on these conclusions, suggestions are made for scouting-related organizations and future research directions, hoping that the results of this study will contribute to the sustainable development of the scouting movement. |
