This is a report of the process within a T-Group for better understanding of the group dynamic. This 13-member group (two men and 11 ladies) included social workers, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, psychiatric nurses, et.. The aim of this study is to qualify and to analyze the behavior, conflicts, struggles and defenses of the group members in learning process. During the process, we experienced the disparity between professional concept and traditional characters. We approached the group process from following five different dimensions. 1. Inconsist-tency of personal openness ''on the table and under the table''. 2. Oversensitivity of authority and masking of power struggling. 3. Preoccupation with the doctrine, resulting in the denial of the facts and the neglect of the needs of the group. 4. Delicately defending the dysfunction and anxiety of the group by professional skills. 5. Covering up the conflicts of subgroups formally. In conclusion, the problems need to be solved from the following two core issues: the inconsistency of personal attitude and behavior ''on the table and under the table'' and the complex toward authority. |
