This review paper provides an overview of high voltage insulating materials used in various applications, such as power transmission, distribution, and conversion systems. The paper begins with a brief discussion of the fundamental properties of insulating materials and their role in high voltage applications. It then goes on to review various types of high voltage insulating materials, including traditional materials such as oil-impregnated paper, resin-impregnated paper, and porcelain, as well as newer materials such as silicone rubber, polyethylene, and polypropylene.
