Secondary hyperparathyroidism mimicking ankylosing spondylitis in a 46-year-old ESRD female: a case report

A 46-year-old female presented to the emergency room with a six-month history of progressive pain in the right buttock and both knees. She had been a type 1 diabetic patient undergoing hemodialysis since 2005. The pain was non-inflammatory in nature and did not exhibit significant morning stiffness.
