In recent years, C. C. Lee has used the literati cum political commentators to discuss Chinese journalism history. Although he has accurately grasped the spirit of the epoch, it is inevitable overemphasize the power of agent and romanticize press in the Republic of China period. In the early days, C. C. Lee explained the transformation of Taiwan's media system, providing a structural perspective. Meanwhile he has noticed the role of intellectuals in the third world, and it has become the subject of C. C. Lee recent research on literati cum political commentators in the Republic of China period. Although C. C. Lee did not put forward a clear historical judgment, but from his interpretation of cultural materialism, we can find an eclectic research orientation that integrates the dualism of structure and agent. |
