In this era of platformization, when the majority of viewers rely on a few platforms (such as Google, Facebook, and YouTube) to perform various daily activities and receive information and entertainment, global public media services face new challenges. The new viewing habits of the platform generation have an impact on public media, leading to fresh demands for platform public services to be more innovative. This research will start from the video streaming platforms of public media in the digital age and further analyze and explain how public service broadcasting, beyond producing high-quality television programs, can develop and produce public service programming in the digital age of streaming platforms. The first focuses on the developmental direction of the Taiwan PTS+ streaming platform, discussing the mechanisms of this service and how the offered content is curated. The second perspective examines how Taiwan PTS cooperates with domestic and foreign streaming platforms to distribute their television dramas. The study also attempt to asks this question: what are the possibilities for the positioning and development of PTS+ in the future? |
