The founder of group analysis, S.H. Foulkes, integrated the concepts of neurology, social psychology, Gestalt psychology, and system theory built up the school of group analysis in 1940. The theory of group analysis emphasizes on the context of events to understand the behaviors of human. It inspects the world from a broad view to a narrow point. Group analysis holds an open attitude to contain multi-element and understand the members from a full, comprehensive perspective. Meanwhile, Foulkes also takes group itself as a powerful object of treatment. As long as being in the group, the therapeutic effect exists. All we have to do is to facilitate the maturation of the group and then, every member in the group can benefit from the group spontaneously. |
