Objects: the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of djembe activities on the quality of life for community psychiatric patients. Method: ten patients with severe and persistent mental illness in a community psychiatric rehabilitation center were joined the djembe activities for 12 session, once a week. Quantitative data was collected before and after the activity through a health related quality of life questionnaire (Quality of Life for Mental Disorders, QoLMD). Results: The differences between before and after tests were not significant. But the scores of the 2nd tests were all slight more than 1st tests. Conclusions: The findings suggest that appropriate sample size is better to test the effect of the intervention of djembe activities. |
