Mutual Influences between the Experience in Therapeutic Community and Interpersonal Group Therapy

British Therapeutic Community and the group psychotherapy in Taiwan are quite different therapeuticmodels.We try to explore the differences between the group psychotherapy in the two nations, and the experience of group psychotherapy to be applied to each other.
In 1943, Bion and Foulkes developed Therapeutic Community in Northfield hospital based on the concepts of group analysis. Therapeutic Community now is quite popular in European countries and U.S. In Taiwan, group psychotherapy is heavily affected by the IrvinYalommodel, which emphasized on the interpersonal interaction and the application of “Here and Now” issue. We would like to explore how the therapist adhering to the Irvin Yalom model survive in the Group analysis based analytic group and how the group analysis experience could affect the Irvin Yalom model group afterward.
