A Proposal Regarding the Correct Sequence for Wooden Slip Number Eight in the “Zeng qian mingji” from the Han Tomb at Yinwan

This article proposes a new sequence for Yinwan wooden slip number eight in the “Zeng qian mingji”, which contain a list of donors' names and sums. Through an examination of the thickness of the penmanship and detailed contents of the wooden slip, the author proposes reading the characters in reverse sequence. In this way, we can resolve the different interpretations of different researchers, and more deeply understand the nature of the “Zeng qian mingji”.
