By employing qualitative research methods, in-depth interviews were conducted with employees from different professions to understand how mentorship relationships function in each sector. The study found that mentorship relationships positively affect learning outcomes, job performance, and retention intentions, though there are some differences across professions. In certain professions, the mentorship might place a greater emphasis on knowledge transfer, significantly impacting learning outcomes; whereas in other professions, the mentorship might emphasize the development of job skills, resulting in better job performance. Additionally, employees' perceptions of the impact of the mentorship on retention intentions vary by professions, possibly related to characteristics of the professions and their organizational culture. Overall, this study provides valuable managerial insights and recommendations for the application of the mentorship in human resource development training across different professions. |
