「中央圓柱投影」與「麥卡托投影」

On the Central Cylindrical and Mercator Projections

「圓柱」是地圖投影中一種常見的投影面，「中央圓柱投影」(Central cylindrical projection)是一種以「圓柱」為投影面，以地球參考體中心為投影中心的一種「透視投影」。「麥卡托投影」(Mercator projection)亦是以「圓柱」為投影面，但是採見非幾何投影的方式，以獲得特定的投影性質。異言之，「麥卡托投影」不是「透視投影」。本文介紹這兩種投影，以釐清其間的差異。

“Cylinder”is a commonly used geometric surface in map projection. "Central cylindrical projection" is a type of "perspective projection" that uses the "cylinder" as the projection surface and the center of the reference globe as the projection center. "Mercator projection" also uses the "cylinder" as the projection surface but employs a mathematical projection method to achieve specific projection properties. In other words, "Mercator projection" is not a "perspective projection." This article introduces these two projections for clarifying the differences between them.
