Global attention was increasingly drawn to the impact resulted from work pressure, work conditions and occupational psychosocial hazard. As frontline workers to provide medical care to patients, medical professionals must face huge pressure, such as caring patients, satisfying the needs of family members, participating in transdisciplinary teamwork and fulfilling professional requirement. Therefore, it is urgent to find appropriate ways, such as meditation, mindfulness, yoga and drawing, to relieve high degree of pressure for them. Aromatherapy, an easily approachable model, is widely used through sniffing, massage, bathing and aromatic spray. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of aromatherapy on improving sleep quality, lifting up spirits and reducing for health providers. The findings show that aromatherapy has positive impact on reducing work pressure of nursing professionals, improving their physical and mental health, enhancing their work effectiveness, and rebuilding their body-minds-pirit balance. However, more evidence-based researches are required for the effect of aromatherapy. |
