Respiratory therapy holds a critical position within the medical landscape. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges to respiratory care, requiring the development of novel treatment strategies and strict infection control measures. Among these, humidified high-flow oxygen therapy (hHFNC) and endotracheal intubation have emerged as crucial treatment methods. Concurrently, The selection and use of respirators have also been adjusted to reduce the risk of infection, while equipment cleaning and disinfection have also been given greater attention. The World Health Organization points out that respiratory equipment must be cleaned and disinfected regularly, and cleaning and disinfection procedures must be implemented for respiratory equipment to avoid microbial contamination. Hospitals continue to introduce bundle care measures to prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia and improve the training and education of medical staff to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff.
